John Matthias

John Matthias
John Matthias is an award-winning musician and composer who has released six albums via Accidental, Ninja Tune, Nonclassical, Village Green and Sony. He has collaborated with many artists including Radiohead (The Bends) and Coldcut (Man in a Garage) and has had his music remixed by many artists including Thom Yorke, Matthew Herbert and Jem Finer (The Pogues). In 2008 he won the UK PRS Foundation New Music Award (The ‘Turner Prize for Music’) and he has performed Internationally at many venues including The Royal Opera House London, The Pompidou Centre (Paris and Le Poisson Rouge (New York). He has written music to many feature films including ‘In the Cloud’ (Sony Crackle), ‘Poor Boy’ (Tribeca Film Festival), ‘The Hamburg Cell’ (Edinburgh International Film Festival), ‘Three degrees colder (Locarno Film Festival), ‘The Domino Effect’ (Netherlands Film Festival) and ‘Pelican Blood’ (Edinburgh International Film Festival), written scores for short films ‘Out of Time’ (Cannes straight-8 2009) and ‘Henry Cowell’ (Rushes Soho shorts festival) and theme music for the BBC TV drama ‘The Village’ (2013). He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Exeter University, UK.
